West High Track

William Blount Memorial Meet, April 3, 2009
Another cold track meet but everyone looked great.  Track season is in full swing for my daughter, Kristin, so I wanted to share some of the team photos I took at the last meet. Kristin is trying lots of new events this year: high jump, long jump, 300 hurdles, 4 X 100. She has had fabulous coaches at West High School and will really miss track when she heads to college next year.

Megan and Bradley

Megan and Bradley have been such an amazing couple to work with.  They are truly beautiful inside and out!  The wedding day was rainy and grey, but it did not phase Megan or Bradley and everything turned out as gorgeous and perfect as Megan had planned.  Here are some photos from a video put together by Animoto   I love these!  So easy and fun!  I will share some of the incredible photos from their engagement sessions (yes plural, you will have to ask Megan and Bradley about this) and Megan's bridal portrait session in the next couple of weeks.

Knoxville Junior Assembly

This was my fourth year of photographing the Knoxville Junior Assembly.  It is always a fun event, and my children are finally old enough that they are no longer embarrassed by me working at parties they attend.  My daughter, Kristin, was presented 2 years ago, so she was there with her boyfriend.  31 girls were presented at Cherokee Country Club this year.  I love seeing all the dresses and hairdos!  Below, the officers were first introduced.
I tried to teach the girls the sorority squat, so everyone's face shows in the photo.  They have a couple more years to learn.

Wedding - Hayley and Wes

I am playing catch up on the blog these winter months and will be sharing images from some of the amazing weddings I shot last year!  Hayley and Wes were married in October, and it was a beautiful October day.  The ground was a bit wet from the rain earlier but not a drop all day long.  We had access to the most amazing farm in Sweetwater to shoot pre and post wedding images.  We were fighting the light after the ceremony, but still got some great shots!  The one below was shot at dusk.

The light was absolutely perfect, and Hayley could not have been more beautiful!
And what a handsome groom!
Kids always make weddings more fun!

How about that scenery in these images!

One of my favorites of the day!

Hayley and Wes surprised everyone with their dancing! The reception was held at Springbrook Country Club in Niota.
Caramel apples - yum!

Raines Family Session

There is nothing like a new born to raise the spirits on these cold grey days!  Isn't he just beautiful!  I love babies!  I have been having fun shooting in the studio when it is too cold and yucky outside to shoot.  The Raines family came in for a family session last week, and here are a few shots from it.

Happy New Year!!!

This blog is becoming my albatross!  I started blogging (very briefly) last April just when wedding season started in full force, Kristin's track meets began, Gunnar's graduation festivities started and Davey was packing up for camp season.  Some how the summer passed, then came moving Gunnar into the dorms, Davey returning from camp season, Kristin applying to colleges and a full fall line up of weddings.  All the while the blog is hanging over my head.  I am hoping that it is like exercising. It is this nagging thought but once you do it, you start to feel better, and the more often you do it, the easier it becomes. The third week into January and my first New Year's resolution is to write a post once a week. Now that I have mentioned all my family members in one paragraph, that is where I will start.
Here is a photo I managed to get of all of us with hair washed and combed and awake before noon!
Here we are!  Davey, my husband, runs Keoweee Adventure Center on Lake Keowee in Salem, SC.  He caters to camps, Camp Greystone, Camp Highlander, Camp Arrowhead, Rockbrook Camp for Girls, and Camp Merriwood, to name a few, teaching waterskiing and wakeboarding!  Sounds like fun doesn't it! Every May, he packs up and heads to the lake to teach over 2000 campers waterskiing and wakeboarding. Luckily, he has a staff of 8 -10 employees to help him with this.  Gunnar is 18 and a freshman at The University of Tennessee.  He pledged Fiji Fraternity, Phi Gamma Delta, in the fall and is now a brother.  I see him every two weeks when he needs to do his laundry and wants a home cooked meal.  I have to admit he showed up for this photo because I did his laundry when it had piled up for about a month!  I'm all for bribing the kids for photos! Candy, a movie, ice cream, whatever it takes. Kristin is a Senior in High School and runs track.  West High School won the State Championship last year, and her 4 X 400 relay broke a state record!  We are looking forward to her first meet this season in a couple weeks.  A few more photos, then over and out for my first blog of 2009.
